Rubbish is all about recycling the materials which were once used to fly and ride waves. It’s about bringing a bit of the “crazy” lifestyle their previous users had, to the lives of regular people.
Rubbish, makes bags, backpacks and accessories out of “retired” kites, paraglide and sail material: it’s called upcycling – transforming something which is no longer functional for its initial purpose into something new, extending the product’s life span and shortening the waste.
Each product is different. Its stories, adventures, hours of flying or riding waves are now put into a bag which will have its own stories to tell. Different designs, colours, patterns and textures make each and every Rubbish bag a unique product.
Aesthetics, functionality and environment respect are the three words which describe Rubbish’s core vision. The brand is very conscious about the environment and tries to pass that consciousness onto its workers, ambassadors and general public. After all, if we don’t take care of our planet, there won’t be more lakes, rivers, seas or oceans to swim in or ride on.
Rubbish combines Swiss design and functionality with Portuguese manufacturing. Each model is carefully elaborate to fit perfectly daily necessities: carrying a laptop, smartphone, books... Then, in Portugal, the materials are cut, washed and prepared to start their new life.
